shangri-lanews 2018-09-11 17:44:33

Photos taken on August 18 show tourists go sight-seeing at the Shudu Lake, an alpine grassland and the Bita Lake in the Potatso National Park, northwest Yunnan's Shangri-La City.

July and August make up the flowering season of sight seeing at the virgin forest park, with daily admittance standing at around 10,000.

Verdant hills, beautiful lakes formed by clear streams, and soft grassland dotted by black yaks and wild flowers entertained tourists a lot.

As China's first national park, Potatso is home to black-necked cranes, many rare and beautiful orchids, and Himalayan Yew, a coniferous tree whose extracts are a source of the anticancer drug.
