Spring landscapes are seen in Shizong, east Yunnan
Yunnan Gateway 2020-04-02 10:14:00

It was a fine spring day on March 31. The Wulong township in Shizong County, east Yunnan’s Qujing City presented picturesque landscapes, with its lush hills and lucid waters drawing in tourists.

As a township of the Zhuang ethnic customs, Wulong features a developed water system. The rivers of Lamen, Jianglong, Niuwei, Banjiang and Luhou crisscross in the area, and the forest coverage in the township reaches 65%.

The township boasts mountainous sites for ecotourism. The Junzi/fungus mountain has continuous flower fields, the Nandan mountain is often capped by clouds, and the Fenghuang/phoenix valley enjoys biodiversity.

Wulong also makes home to organic produces. Oranges, lemons, pomegranate, ginger, mango, loquat and others are grown as integral parts of a more general pattern of ago-tourism.

Embracing the philosophy of “lush mountains and lucid waters are invaluable assets,” the township aims to be a tourist center in eastern Yunnan province.

The Zhuang culture is inherited by locals. Girls are turning the Zhuang embroidery into souvenirs, and some farmers are turning orchards into holiday inns.
