The first trial 5G base station in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture was launched on February 20 at the Diqing subsidiary of the telecom firm China Mobile.
The 5G base station is a milestone in improving Diqing’s information service and spurring digital economy in the prefecture.
“We will make full use the cutting-edge 5G technology and open more service 5G stations in Diqing, said a staff with China Mobile Diqing Branch, adding the 5G tech will be fused in IDC and cloud services. The 5G trial service will be applied in the fields of e-government, agriculture, tourism, traffic control and more, contributing to a digital Yunnan and a smart society.
