Briton Jay Clarke wins Kunming Tennis Open

Jay Clarke of Britain beat defending champion Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India 6-4, 6-3 in the men's singles final to take the Kunming Open tennis crown here on Sunday.


Australian pair Max Purcell and Luke Saville won the men's doubles title. They came from one set down to overcome David Pel of Poland and Hans Podlipnik-Castillo of Chile 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 in a tough three-set final.


There are some 200 players from 30 countries and regions participating in the seventh Kunming Open this year, while the women's competition, featuring local stars Peng Shuai and Zhang Shuai, will kick off on Monday.
