Bridge sections on Shangri-La-Lijiang freeway join
Shangri-lanews 2019-05-20 18:50:09

The sections of the landmark Walibie bridge on Shangri-La-Lijiang freeway were eventually joined on May 13th, after 4 hours of concrete pouring.

As the first continuous rigid frame bridge joined on the Shangri-La-Lijiang freeway, the Walibie bridge will provide valuable technical references for construction of the other four similar bridges on the expressway.

The Walibie bridge is Located in the Hutiaoxia/tiger-leap gorge town of Shangri-La, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and its construction began in March 2016.

The age of the builders averages less than 30 years old. In the past three years, they have overcome the difficulties brought about by severe weather and harsh topography, contributing greatly to the expressway construction in northwest Yunnan.
