SSACEIF concludes in Kunming with new results

The 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) came to an end June 18 in Kunming, Yunnan Province, achieving a series of new results.


A total of 2,800 international dignitaries, including officials, diplomats, business leaders and heads of international organizations attended the opening ceremony, according to statistics released by the organizer Tuesday.

14 high-end business forums and cultural events have brought in 5,500 plus participants from China, ASEAN and South Asia, facilitating economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges in the region.


The Yunnan trade fair this year features pavilions of clean energy, green Food, biomedicine, general health and forest ecology, showing the province’s confidence in the said areas.

Also, the SSACEIF highlighted Yunnan’s efforts in smart travel and digitalization, and these feature the 5G network service that fully covered the fair venue: Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center.


The event drew in 3,348 companies, half of which were from overseas. A total of 407 projects that add up to 609.3 billion yuan ($88 billion) were signed at the trade fair, said the organizer.

350,000 visited the week-long trade fair, which was facilitated by 11,500 volunteers, including 1,500 university students.
