The 10th“ethnic unity and progress month”program was launched in Shangri-La, the capital of Diqing Tibet autonomous prefecture in Yunnan province on September 2. Gu Kun, Party secretary of the CPC Diqing Prefectural Committee, delivered an opening speech, and the event was attended by nearly 1,000 prefectural officials and minority representatives.

After the launching ceremony, guests danced together with local residents wearing ethnic dressings to express their love and gratitude to the homeland.  

Parties and speech contests were also held at night.
