The 2019 Tiger Leaping Gorge & Haba Snow Mountain Cross Country Running Competition will be held in Shangri-La city in China's southwest Yunnan province on October 27.

Organizers say the event will comprise a 25km cross country race and a 50km race.

"200 runners from all over the world will traverse jungles, meadows, gorges and mountains, with the highest altitude reaching 4,500 meters," Luo Biao, an organizing committee official, told a press conference on Monday.

Located to the south of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, this region of Yunnan features many natural attractions such as the Meri Snow Mountain, the Haba Snow Mountain, the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the Pudacuo National Park and Napa Lake.
