200 open-billed storks visit Kaiyuan, S. Yunnan
Yunnan Gateway 2020-03-04 16:47:14

More than 200 open-billed storks, an endangered species, appeared at the Fenghuang(phoenix) Park, south Yunnan’s Kaiyuan City, presenting a harmony between human and nature.

Built in November 2017, the Kaiyuan park covers an area of 3,500 Chinese acres, forming an habitat for the bird species of storks, herons, egrets, cormorants, and more.

As a key stop on the historic Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, Kaiyuan features rich coal mine and subtropical sights. Now the city can be reached by fast trains running on the Kunming-Hekou rail.
