Tibet leads China in income growth rate in 2019

Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region saw robust growth in residents' incomes last year, the regional statistics bureau said Wednesday.



The per capita disposable income of rural residents registered a growth rate of 13.1 percent to 12,951 yuan (about 1,830 U.S. dollars), while the per capita disposable income of urban residents increased by 10.7 percent to 37,410 yuan.


Both the growth rates ranked first among all provincial regions in China, according to the bureau.


Tibet's total output value of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry in 2019 stood at 21.28 billion yuan, up 8.9 percent. The grain yield topped 1.05 million tonnes, including 815,000 tonnes of highland barley. The output of meat and milk exceeded 901,000 tonnes, including 348,000 tonnes of meat and 553,000 tonnes of milk.
