Shangri-La is a city under the jurisdiction of northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. In the Tibetan language, the word “Shangri-la” literally means “the sun and the moon in heart ”. In the “Lost Horizon”, a novel written by British novelist James Hilton in the 1930s, the Shangri-La was described as a happy, quiet, external and mysterious dreamland. Today, Shangri-La has become a world famous destinations for tourists both at home and abroad.
