Meaning a “place of sunshine” in the Tibetan language, the peaceful Niru village  is located within the Three Parallel Rivers area --- a World Natural Heritage Site.

Also part of the Pudacuo National Park, the village falls under the jurisdiction of Luoji Township, Shangri-La City.

Home to over 600 villagers, Niru features virgin forest, lucid streams, cheerful natives and traditional Tibetan dwellings.
