On October 24, folks in the Niru village of Luoji Township, Shangri-La City, ushered in the mountain-worship and horse-racing festival, a traditional Tibetan occasion celebrated annually.

To show their respect to nature, local Tibetan folks gather together at the foot of the holy mountains, wearing traditional costumes and holding prayer flags on horses.

Men have horse races or light a little aromatic mulberry branches as a sacrifice to the mountain, while women and kids make some tea or have a Guozhuang dance.
