A long-table dinner party was held on December 31 to mark the coming of the 2019 New Year in the Dukezong old town in Shangri-La City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

With locals dressed in beautiful costumes, the spectacular long-table feast features authentic Tibetan dishes, bringing in thousands of tourists from home and abroad on the special occasion.

Other merry-making activities this winter included group-dancing around bonfires, spinning prayer wheels, and races throughout the city.

Shangri-La aims to be a world-class tourist destination.
